The band began taking shape in the Albemarle, NC area circa 2021 as Chandler “Love Bug” leaned into his natural talent for playing guitar while also diving deeper into singing and songwriting. The early lineup included Chandler’s father, John, on bass—an important father-and-son chapter before John retired and Dan stepped into the role.

“Lowdown Hippie” became an early turning point, bringing Chandler’s voice, songwriting and guitar work together in a finished studio recording that felt like a true statement of direction. It showed what Love Bug Junkie could become without revealing every card the band still had left to play.

Today, Chandler is joined by Bill on rhythm guitar, Dan on bass and Mason on drums. Together, they bring a live show that stretches and shifts with the room—performing throughout the Carolinas and across the Southeast at music venues, festivals, private events and special performances. The next chapter means bigger shows, larger festivals, new collaborations and the continued evolution of the Love Bug Junkie sound. A debut album remains somewhere on the horizon. Until then, the band is focused on writing stronger songs, reaching new stages and letting the music reveal what comes next.
